Volunteer Spotlight

 

Horticulture

Manicure and enhance the Gardens by watering, weeding, pruning, planting, raking and re-potting both inside and outside. Must love gardening.

(Training – one, five-hour course)

 

Tour Guide

Lead a tour for visitors and/or students. You must enjoy plants and possess the ability to communicate with small groups. (Training – five, three-hour sessions)

  

Hands-on Docent

Instruct students on plant parts, flower parts, fruits, vegetables, soil and grains. You must enjoy working with children in a structured hands-on environment. (Training – five, three-hour sessions)

 


Facilities

Simple carpentry, electrical maintenance, painting, grounds management, janitorial assistance and special event setup. (Training provided on an individual basis)

 

Gift Shop

Greet visitors, work admission and merchandise counter.  Afternoons Monday – Sunday. You must enjoy working with the public. (Training provided on an individual basis)


Special Events

Greet guests, work admission table, assist with raffles and auctions, serve beverages, sell snacks and plants. You must enjoy working with people in a festive environment. (Training – one, two-hour course)

 
Administrative Support

Data entry, mass mailings and other clerical tasks. Must have some office and computer knowledge. (Training provided on an individual basis)
