Erin Grajek

The Botanical Gardens announces a summer full of fun creative and educational camps for kids.  Children may partake in a morning Art Camp, attend the afternoon Junior Botany Camp, or choose to participate in both camps for a full day of learning and fun.

Art Camp is appropriate for kids ages 5-12 and will focus on different topics each week.  Art Camp from July 11 through July 15 and August 8 through August 12 will focus on multi-media creations, July 18 through July 22 and August 15 through August 19 will highlight painting and July 25 through July 29 and August 22 through August 26 will concentrate on drawing techniques. Advanced Art Camp for campers aged 10-16, will be held August 1 through August 5 and will focus on multi-media creations. Art Camp and Advanced Art Camp will take place mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm.

Kids, ages 5-12, can explore the Botanical Gardens, learn all about plants, play games, make a plant to take home and partake in other fun activities in Junior Botanist Camp.  These sessions take place afternoons from 12:30pm-4:00pm.  Junior Botanist Camp will highlight a new topic each week.  July 11 through July 15 will be Wild and Wacky Water Week, July 18 through July 22 is Pollinators Week, July 25 through July 29 will be Edible Garden Week, August 8 through August 12 is Plants and Our Planet Week, August 15 through August 19 will be Survival Adventure Week and August 22 through August 29 is Nature Explorers Week.

Kids can spend the entire day, from 9:00am-4:00pm, learning about art and botany. Campers staying for both camps will need to bring a bagged lunch.  Lunchtime is from 12:00pm-12:30pm.  Campers coming just for the afternoon session are also welcome to join their friends at lunchtime and bring their lunch too.

Half day camp sessions are $95 per week or $19 per day for Garden Members and $105 per week or $21 per day for the general public.  Full day camps are $150 per week or $30 per day for Garden Members and $160 per week or $32 per day for Non-Members.  Camps are appropriate for kids ages 5-12, with the exception of Advanced Art Camp, which is appropriate for ages 10-16.  Pre-registration is required, and completed camp forms are due by the Wednesday before each camp session.
