An Orchid Show will Brighten the Botanical Gardens March 7-8

Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens will be bursting with orchids at their annual winter Orchid Show.  The show will be held March 7 from 10:00am through 4:30pm and on March 8 from 10:00am through 3:00pm. 

Along with the Niagara Frontier Orchid Society, the Botanical Gardens will host this popular annual orchid showcase with dozens of hand-picked and award-winning orchid exhibits.  These unique exhibits from members of the Niagara Frontier Orchid Society, will be dispersed throughout the Botanical Gardens for visitors to enjoy. Organizers encourage visitors to bring a camera or smart device to capture the beauty and uniqueness of the amazing orchids that will be on display.

For those who want to expand their orchid knowledge, informal and educational presentations with award-winning local orchid grower Howard P. Martin will be held both days at 2:00pm on growing orchids and other aspects of indoor orchid gardening. During the show, orchids of many varieties and sizes as well as lots of growing supplies will be for sale through local vendors.  Vendors include Howard P. Martin, Marlow Orchids and watercolor artist Carol Koziol Clark.

The Niagara Frontier Orchid Society’s mission is to seek to promote the culture and enjoyment of orchids, and aims to further every member’s orchid related knowledge. They are dedicated to encouraging the protection of orchids and their conservation in natural habitats around the world. The Orchid Show is included with Botanical Gardens’ admission - $12.50 adults, $11 seniors (62+), $11 students (13+ with ID), $7 Kids 3-12, Botanical Gardens’ Members and kids 2 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online at buffalogardens.com or inside the Botanical Gardens at the admission desk.
