Botanical Gardens Announces New ‘One-Stop, Mom-Shop’ Plant and Vendor Sale for Mother’s Day and the Return of the Great Plant Sale On-Site

Erin Grajek

Buffalo, NY- The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens will be hosting a brand new plant and vendor sale for Mother’s Day called the ‘One-Stop, Mom-Shop.’ The following weekend, the Great Plant Sale returns on-site for the first time since 2019, which will also include the popular Bulb Sale.
It’s plant sale season at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens and Western New Yorkers won’t want to miss these two weekends. Saturday, May 7 from 10am-8pm, the Botanical Gardens will be hosting the brand new plant and vendor sale, the ‘One-Stop, Mom-Shop.’ Being the Saturday before Mother’s Day, this special day will be filled with mom’s favorite plants including gorgeous hanging baskets, orchids, mini orchids, mini roses, succulents and so much more. It's the ultimate Mother's Day plant and vendor sale to treat mom to all of her favorite plants, jewelry, soaps, scents, teas, and even some bubbles from Buffalo’s only mobile wine trailer, the Bubble Bar! The Buffalo Bubble Bar will be on-site all day from 10am-8pm.

The ‘One-Stop, Mom Shop’ will take place in the Administration Building on the Botanical Gardens campus and is free and open to the public to attend. Shoppers are also welcome and encouraged to purchase E-tickets to visit inside the Botanical Gardens conservatory, where they can get free, professional ‘Mommy and Me’ photos taken with mom inside the Gardens and capture their memories from this special day. These mini-shoots by Honeyroot Studio are available and included with admission from 11am to 4pm only. Food trucks including Lavins Food TruckPolish Villa, and The Blend will be available from 11am to 5pm. The Cheesy Chick will also be available from 11am to 2pm.
The following weekend is the return of the Botanical Gardens’ famous Great Plant Sale, which will be back on-site for the first time since 2019. The sale will take place on Friday, May 13 from 11am to 8pm and Saturday, May 14 from 9am to 3pm. Organizers would also like to note there will be an early-access Members-Only Night to kick off the sale on May 12 from 2pm to 8pm. This early-access night is for Botanical Gardens Members only and a registered E-ticket is required to attend. Those interested in purchasing a membership can get 15% off now through May 8 as part of a Mother’s Day sale using coupon code: MOM22.
This year, the Great Plant Sale will feature a wide variety of hand-selected favorites from the Botanical Gardens Horticulture Staff at unbeatable prices. Shop for gorgeous annuals, perennials, shrubs, and recycled bulbs from the Spring Flower Exhibit from what is traditionally known as the Bulb Sale. The varieties chosen for the sale are unlike most that one would find at any other nursery and will really stand out in gardens. Shoppers can also purchase a unique compost blend from Tend, Western New York’s only STA Approved compost made right here in Buffalo from local waste. This compost goes through the US Composting Council’s rigorous testing program called STA, which requires frequent testing and analytics. It is made from a mixture of manure and other materials from the Buffalo Zoo, seaweed, fruits, vegetables, bakery waste, flowers, brewery waste, distillery waste, and wood chips. This screened product is ideal for landscaping, home garden projects, lawns and farms. Purchase a sample size or buy in bulk right on site at the Great Plant Sale. The Great Plant Sale will take place in the Administration Building on the Botanical Gardens campus and is free and open to the public to attend.
Organizers would like to note that in an effort to reduce the use of plastic and waste, they are asking shoppers at both sales to bring their own reusable bags or boxes to transport purchased plants. A limited number of reusable bags will be available for purchase at the sales.
