Hosta Show - June 9
by the Western New York Hosta Society
Included with Admission
The unique Hosta Show will take place on June 9 from 10:00am-4:00pm. Hostas are America’s favorite perennial, and because they are grown and exhibited for their diverse foliage rather than their flowers, it is difficult to exhibit the whole plant. Members of The Western New York (WNY) Hosta Society show single, well groomed, leaves in vases. Hundreds of leaves that vary in size, shape, form and color will be on show for attendees to enjoy. The leaves will be judged the previous day by Master Judges from the North Eastern USA and then displayed in large groups. Troughs, trays and pots, artfully planted with small hostas and companion plants, will also be displayed. One of the creative highlights of the show will be artistic flower arrangements that incorporate hosta leaves.
The WNY Hosta Society is a dedicated group of diverse individuals who enjoy the world of hostas and shade gardening. Members stay up to date with what is happening in the hosta world and reap the rewards of gardening expertise and newfound friendships.
