Kerria is a beautiful but underused shrub with showy, double, golden-yellow flowers that bloom in early spring.  Unique zig-zag branching, sharply toothed bright green leaves, and yellow-green stems on a vigorous grower make this a good choice for a shrub border or open woodland area.   Blooms for a long period in the spring followed by a lovely yellow color in fall.  The brilliant flowers look like little roses.
