Hands-on Classroom Kits

Our Classroom Kits can be adapted for students of all grade levels and abilities. This versatile and fun program is perfect for elementary schools, high schools, after school programs, daycares, youth groups, and even college students!

• Classroom Kits include individually packaged supplies for each student to complete a hands-on activity of choice.

• Kits also include a link to a virtual lesson presentation and printable PDF instructions.

• Classroom kits also include a link to a virtual tour of the Botanical Gardens.

• Price - $10 per student kit, Minimum of 5 kits per order

• One free teacher kit included with each order.

• Kits are available for pick-up or delivery. Pick-up is free, delivery is available within Erie County for a flat fee of $20 or $40 for neighboring counties.

• A scheduled live virtual instruction can be added on to any program for an additional fee of $75 per one-hour session

Terrarium Workshop

• Age range: all ages

• Each student kit includes:

  • Plastic Container and Lid

  • Rocks

  • Sand

  • Charcoal

  • Soil

  • One Spiderwort Plant

  • Label for name

• Teachers will need to provide water, watering can or bucket, and ¼ cup measure

• Price - $10 per student

• A scheduled live virtual instruction can be added on to any program for an additional fee of $75 per one-hour session.

• Pick-up – Free

• Delivery - $20 fee for delivery within Erie County, $40 for neighboring counties

Succulent Workshop

Each student will create an open garden space in a tray with succulents while learning about plant adaptations and desert environments.

• Age range: all ages

• Each student kit includes:

  • Plastic Tray

  • Rocks

  • Sandy Soil Mix

  • Two assorted succulents

  • Label for name

  • Colored sand

• Teachers can provide water if keeping gardens in the classroom, or encourage students to water when they get home.

• Price - $10 per student

Plant Reproduction

Explore the ways plants make more of themselves while dissecting a seed and propagating a stem cutting.

• Age range: recommended 3rd-4th grades

• Each student kit includes:

  • One lima bean

  • Seed diagram worksheet

  • One stem cutting of a plant

  • Propagation cup

  • Perlite

  • Rooting Hormone

• Teacher will need to provide water and watering can or bucket.

Flower Parts

Have fun learning all about what makes flowers so special! Dissect an alstroemeria lily and learn to identify the parts of a flower.

• Age range: recommended 3rd-4th grades

• Each student kit includes:

  • One alstroemeria lily

  • Flower parts worksheet

  • DIY pollinator puppet

• Teacher will need to provide tape.

• Price - $10 per student
