Exploring Roots by artist and educator Judith Kosinski invites you on a visual journey that uncovers the roots of artistic elements and expresses the wonder of nature in a variety of media. Whether it's through the intricate veins of a leaf or vibrant brushstrokes of color, the beauty and lessons of nature are translated through the artistic eyes of Ms. Kosinski using watercolor, acrylic, oil, and mixed media. “Nature continually offers me new ways to see, and new ways to challenge my art practice,” comments Judy. “There is great joy in taking the same subject, of flowers, for example, and stretching myself artistically to represent and express what I see in as many different ways as nature presents them to me.”
E-TICKETS ARE REQUIRED for all visitors, including members. Walk-ins may be turned away if our visitor capacity has been met. Please arrive with your E-tickets ready to be scanned! Masks are still required at all times for all visitors, staff and volunteers, vaccinated or unvaccinated, when in or on Botanical Gardens Property. Meet our Arcangel Gallery artist and Botanical Gardens Art Educator, Judith Kosinski!
Judith has been creating ever since she can remember and has been teaching all she knows about art and creativity for more than 25 years! She is passionate about all aspects of artmaking and truly loves to help other artists create and grow their skills.
Judy is an experienced and engaging educator; skilled with creative curriculum development, teaching all media in fine art, providing youth and professional mentoring. She most recently worked as an educator for Alden Central Schools for 23 years, teaching art and life skills to grades 9-12, art classes to inmates in a correctional facility, coordinated adult education programs, and organized community-wide art events.
Her passion for painting and drawing is infused in her teaching: “Helping artists find and strengthen their own artistic voice is such an important and rewarding practice” commented Judy, “And teaching with the Botanical Gardens is a wonderful partnership -- I love working with students in this incredibly rich environment filled with natural inspiration!” Judy works in a variety of media herself, with a particular love for watercolor, oil and mixed media.
