P2. Astilbe ‘Amber Moon’

P2. Astilbe ‘Amber Moon’

Perennial - Hot Pick
An ideal plant for moist shade, ‘Amber Moon’ features lacy lime-yellow foliage tinged with red in the newest leaves.  The strong, red stems carry airy rose-pink plumes in the mid-summer.  This plant glows in partial to full shade, woodland gardens, and in combination with other moisture loving plants.

Most Astilbe have green foliage, so this chartreuse variety with its deeply cut foliage provides a welcome alternative.  Combine its refined grace with hostas, ferns, and Brunnera in your partial shade garden.  This plant is drought tolerant but will welcome moisture during extended dry periods.  Leave the seedheads up for birds during the winter and cut it back in the spring.  Divide every 3-5 years.

36”H, 26”W, part to full shade.  Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Deer and rabbit resistant.
