Taste of Paradise - A Retro Hawaiian Party with Captain Morgan Is Planned at the Botanical Gardens

Buffalo, NY - Step back in time and enjoy a retro Hawaiian party at Taste of Paradise on April 12 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Botanical Gardens. This lively event celebrates spring and the Botanical Gardens with an open bar of signature cocktails from Captain Morgan, beer, wine, live music, entertainment, a great raffle and hors d’oeuvres from local caterers.

Spring is long overdue and Taste of Paradise is a vibrant and fun event that is held inside the Botanical Gardens. Visitors will arrive to outdoor fire dancers (weather dependent), a free tropical inspired gift and the amazing Botanical Gardens that will be filled with tens of thousands of spring flowers as part of the Spring Exhibit. The conservatory will be dripping with color; over 22,000 bulbs will be on display as well as fragrant shrubs and flowers of every kind.  Amazing metal sculptures from Cass Metalscapes will also be whimsically displayed among the spring flowers.  As guests wander through the conservatory they will encounter hula dancers, roving ukulele players and island drummers.

Signature cocktails from Captain Morgan will be available at the open bar. Cocktails include a Mai Tai that will be a mix of Captain Morgan’s spiced dark rum, amaretto, pineapple juice, lime juice and a splash of grenadine. The Blue Hawaiian will be a mix of Blue Curacao, Captain Morgan’s Coconut Rum, pineapple juice and a flower petal garnish. Captain and Ginger will include Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum, ginger ale and a fresh lemon garnish.  Also available at the open bar will be Ithaca Flower Power IPA, Labatt Blue Citra, red, white and sparkling wine.

On their stroll through the Botanical Gardens, guests will also encounter several caterers along the way.  Delicious and plentiful tidbits will be served from Curly’s Grille, Ilio DiPaolo’s, Fat Bob’s, Michael’s Catering, Buffalo Catering, Oliver’s, Occasions by Osteria, Salvatore’s Italian Gardens and Tonawanda Castle Catering.

This event to raise friends and funds for the Botanical Gardens would not be complete without an incredible basket raffle.  Raffle prizes are valued at $50-$200 each. Themed baskets include, Captain Morgan rums, Kettle One Vodkas, local salons and spas, overnight getaways and so much more!  Raffle tickets are $20 per sheet or three sheets for $40.  Raffle tickets will be available at the event and winners may claim their prizes that night.

Tickets include an open bar, plentiful hors devours, entertainment, live music, a free gift and the Spring Exhibit.  Ticket prices are: $40 for Botanical Gardens’ Members, $45 for the general public and after April 1, all tickets are $50.  Tickets are available online at buffalogardens.com. This is a popular event so organizers encourage guests to purchase tickets early. Taste of Paradise is sponsored by M&T Bank, Buffalo Spree, Star 102.5 and Backyard Party Supply.

Organizers would like to make a special note to the public that the Botanical Gardens will be closed from 2:00-6:00pm on April 12 in preparation for Taste of Paradise.
