Our talented educators are taking our popular terrarium workshop on the road for this fun and exciting program. Participants will learn what plants need to grow and discover the inner workings of the water cycle while creating the perfect home for a tropical plant. Instruction and supplies for each participant to build their own terrarium to take home are included. Our BG2U terrarium program is ideal for schools, daycares, summer camps, and libraries looking for a fun in-classroom activity. Instruction can be modified for individuals of all ages and abilities.

5-PS3-1. Use models to describe that energy in animals; food (used for body repair, growth, motion and to maintain body warmth) was once energy from the sun.

5-LS2-1. Develop a model to describe the movement of matter among plants (producers), animals (consumers), decomposers, and the environment.

MS-ESS2-4. Develop a model to describe the cycling of water through Earth’s systems driven by the energy from the Sun and the force of gravity.

HS-LS2-3. Construct and revise an explanation based on evidence for the cycling of matter and flow of energy in ecosystems.
