Your next adventure awaits at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens during Topiary Tales! Step into our conservatory, which has been transformed into a whimsical woodland forest, filled with larger-than-life animal topiaries made from plants and other natural materials! Peacocks and turtles and bears, oh my! That’s right— we have an entire cast of characters set in botanical scenes that inspired a series of short stories for you to read as you adventure through this picture book come to life. Enjoy the stories of Fox and Rabbit, Turtle and Heron, Panda, Peacock, Deer, and of course —Bison, all while seeing the scenes from the stories in real life! You’ll even have the opportunity to take home the collection of short stories with you, so you can keep the adventure alive at home! Don’t miss this wild, whimsical, and plant-iful exhibit this fall.

Topiary Tales is written by Shaunna Mooney and illustrated by local artist, Emma Roberts of @kindlife.studio.

On Saturdays during the exhibit, join us for a magical morning of imagination and discovery during an exciting storytime! This special event invites little ones and their caregivers to gather for a delightful story session. We’re sharing a series of short stories from  Topiary Tales, a book inspired by the larger-than-life animal topiaries from our seasonal exhibit. Storytime will be held on Saturdays from September 19 through November 2 from 11:00-11:30am, and is included with admission.

Topiary Tales is fun for all ages, but will be especially enjoyed by little ones who love animals and storytime!
