Dive into the historic process of cyanotype printmaking in this sophisticated art workshop designed for high school. In this exciting field trip, students will start in our Learning Lab to discuss this special UV photographic process and how it connects to the creation of nature-based art throughout the past 150 years. Students will then get to create their own unique compositions using pressed plant material, fabrics, light, and shadows. After developing and drying prints, groups are encouraged to explore the Botanical Gardens collection. Admission to the Botanical Gardens is included along with a self-guided field guide and time to explore the Conservatory. No previous art-making experience is required.
