Begonias

All about those leaves!

Begonias

Did you know begonias are primarily grown for their wide variety of foliage?

  1. Begonia leaves come in all shapes, sizes, and colors!
  2. Begonias are monecious, meaning that separate male and female flowers grow on the same plant.
  3. Begonias produce some of the smallest seeds in the world. These seeds are so tiny that they could be mistaken for dust!
  4. Begonias are roughly divided into 8 major groups, usually based on their root type; cane-like, shrub-like, tuberous, rhizomatous, semperflorens, Rex, trailing, and thick stemmed.
