Join in the creative fun of this workshop as we let our “artistic intuition” guide us in creating beautiful artwork from our insides out! Intuitive painting is a process of painting without judgment or critique, using your personal choices, visions, and artistic preferences to develop a work of art that fits you. You will work with your natural inclinations towards color, mark-making and composition. We will experiment with different mark-making and paint application techniques, and will paint freely in response to guided prompts. Guaranteed to bring you creative joy! You will end with a finished (or nearly finished!) painting. If you have ever wanted to “loosen up” in your painting and strengthen your own personal style, this workshop will get you started! In order to maintain the safest environment possible, classes will be offered via Zoom Meeting, a free online audio-visual platform.

All adult classes and workshops are recorded and are available for one week after the class. Therefore, if you miss the class, you will have one week to catch up on the class at your convenience. Review our class information and procedures for more information.

Meet your instructor Judith Kosinski!
Judith has been creating ever since she can remember and has been teaching all she knows about art and creativity for more than 20 years! She is passionate about all aspects of artmaking and truly loves to help other artists create and grow their skills.

Judy is an experienced and engaging educator; skilled with creative curriculum development, teaching all media in fine art, providing youth and professional mentoring. She most recently worked as an educator for Alden Central Schools for 23 years, teaching art and life skills to grades 9-12, art classes to inmates in a correctional facility, coordinated adult education programs, and organized community-wide art events.

Her passion for painting and drawing is infused in her teaching: “Helping artists find and strengthen their own artistic voice is such an important and rewarding practice” commented Judy, “And teaching with the Botanical Gardens is a wonderful partnership -- I am eager to work with students in this incredibly rich environment filled with natural inspiration!” Judy works in lots of different media herself, with a particular love for watercolor, oil and mixed media.
